When we set out to design the Tongass Upland Jacket we wanted to make sure it would meet the most demanding needs of today's upland hunter.  We know people want a blaze orange hunting jacket that is tough under any conditions, yet extremely lightweight and breathable.  We constructed our Tongass Jacket with an industry leading 3 layer 100% waterproof breathable fabric.  We added waterproof zippers throughout to ensure water cannot get through to your core.  Every pocket is designed to give you easy access while wearing your upland strap vest.  The two zippered chest pockets double as a core venting system that replaces the need for pit vents that often gape open and can easily get caught on brush.  The two zippered hand pockets are set high enough to clear the top of your vest’s waist belt. The hood is fully integrated and adjustable to give you added protection from rain when needed.  We also gave the jacket a generous but not oversized length to ensure that it does not ride up while wearing an upland vest.  The Tongass Upland Jacket is truly a game changing design in the upland hunting industry.

  • The only technical Blaze Orange Jacket on the market, that is lightweight, breathable and tough
  • 100% Stretch Polyester with a 3 Layer Waterproof Breathable Laminate that is an industry leader in both Waterproofness and Breathability
  • 4 Pockets that are designed to be accessible with a strap vest
  • Core venting as opposed to pit venting (that can get hung up on brush)
  • Adjustable hood
  • Waterproof zippers with pull hoods
  • Articulated Elbows
  • Long enough that it won’t ride up when wearing a vest

First Class Rainwear!

Perfect for Hiking in the Pacific Northwest with the dog. Extremely durable and waterproof. The Blaze Orange is nice and visible. Drop tail at the back is great. Would be great to have this design also extended to a longer version maybe mid-thigh length for heavy rain. Understand the logic for the no pit zip ventilation but personally I would add it in and people can determine for themselves if they want to use them. Can’t fault the quality of materials or construction.

Cannot say enough good about this jacket. Wore it through thorn briar and whippy aspen cuts and it held up great. If you’re on the fence on buying one..don’t wait.

Great Hunting Gear!

I’d looked everywhere for a sturdy, waterproof blaze orange outer layer before a friend turned me on to PYKE Gear. I’ve been impressed with the fit and wearability of this jacket. It’s a perfect outer layer on frigid days that keeps me visible in the bird fields, and keeps the rain and snow out while doing it. Very happy with this jacket.

Was pretty leery about spending this much on a jacket, but so far no regrets. I bought it for a wind break more than a rain coat. Wore it for the second time today, 21 degrees and 30 mph wind gusts. Was almost sweating when I got back to the truck. Nothing underneath but a t shirt and hoodie. Briars didn’t wreck it, little stickums wipe right off. IF this coat lasts, it will be the last pheasant hunting coat I buy. Not made in America, if anyone is wondering. I’m 6’-2”, 190 #’s, the Large fits perfect. Good luck, see ya in the field!

Jacket fits well but won’t test till next Fall. Had been using another manufacturer’s jacket that was too bulky to mount my shotgun. The Pyke jacket will work well.
